History

The Twiss Residence plays a significant role in the early residential development of Kerrisdale, which, back then, was considered Point Grey. Built in 1912 by businessman William James Twiss, the house and its grounds were attached to a larger subdivision, known then as the “residential district of the most desirable class.”

One of the few remaining estate-like properties from this era, the Craftsman-style home is characterized by its grand gables, deep eaves, stained glass windows, and prominent porch. The original residence sits on the highest point of the property to take advantage of views to the west. Formwerks will revitalize this notable heritage residence, transforming it into a duplex home, and incorporate two additional duplex buildings, a triplex building, and a coach home.
